WtF - issue #45
What Thinks Fritz was very fortunate to be invited to the preview of Jordan Wolfon’s newest art installation at the stunning Fondation Beyeler last week. Our visit could be summarized in one word: GO! But there’s more mindblowing stuff outside of the Little Room. And you can read all about it in WtF #45 Enjoy, share, share, SUBSCRIBE and/or …buy us a coffee ☕️!
Little Room 🕶️🎧
Little Room is a new Virtual Reality art installation by American artist Jordan Wolfson. The immersive work, on display for the first time at the Fondation Beyeler near Basel Switzerland, invites visitors to step into an experimental environment where they play a central role in the unfolding experience. One that blows your mind.
Bread Wrapping Paper 🥖 🎁
Last month we read about this amazing wrapping paper on a favorite site of ours, Spoon & Tamago: ‘Conceived by Japanese graphic designer Ippei Tsujio, the ultra-realistic wrapping paper creates a visual illusion with each sheet—baguette, ciabatta or classic sandwich loaf—that brings the warm aesthetic of a bakery shelf right to your hands.’
Translation Glasses 👓
This June, at the Holland Festival you will be able to try out glasses that translate the performance on stage into one of 223 language. In real time. The glasses have been around for a while, but this is one of the first times they’re used on (or rather off) stage.
Tor Alva 🗼
The world’s tallest 3D-printed tower was recently revealed in Mulegns, a small mountain town in Switzerland, and it looks like it came straight out of a J.R.R. Tolkien novel.
Boombox Renaissance 📻
This GB-001 isn’t just any boombox—it’s a true all-rounder, blending nostalgia with serious modern power. Throw in your favorite cassette, stream wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.4, or plug in your phone with the jack: everything sounds huge, thanks to four Hi-Fi speakers and many Watts of energy. Everything you need is right there: separate knobs for bass, treble, and balance, plus a mic input for live jams or spontaneous rap battles. Turn it on, crank it up, and your living room becomes a stage.
Don West 🎼😎
Don West, Sydney’s rising indie-soul artist, weaves golden melodies and heartfelt lyrics into every song. His latest single, Send It Back, aches with longing, while the music video’s loyal dog perfectly captures the hope and devotion at the song’s core. In his recent acoustic performance of Rather Be Lonely, Don strips his sound bare, letting raw emotion shine. With every note, he reminds us: true love, like true music, always finds its way home:
Don West’s music echoes the same timeless, dreamy atmosphere that made Chris Isaak’s Wicked Game an icon of longing and heartbreak.
Thanks for reading. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for spinning our fresh music playlist (with Don West on repeat 🤘). Thanks for listening to our biweekly WtFritzcast.
Hasta la vista and till #46!
