Knuffelmakers 🧸
A doll that looks like your dog, your loved one or yourself? For about 200 euros the people of Knuffelmakers let you cuddle with whomever or whatever.
Frank Lloyd Wright 🏠
The Usonian houses were the result of architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s goal to design a simple, modern, affordable home for the masses. The first Usonian home, Jacobs 1, was built in Madison, WI, in 1936. The last Usonian house was completed after Wright’s death in 1959. Usonian homes were the prototypes for the ranch style homes that have since proliferated across the suburban United States and on this website you can view different designs AND find the floorplans to build you own FLW.
Kanpai 🍻
A stay in the fabulously fancy new Sapporo Stream Hotel comes with the chance to hook up with a robotic beer buddy that makes drafting a brewsky a ‘ little whistle of a cent’ as they say in The Netherlands…
Growing Sneakers 👟
Footwear designer Dr. D’Wayne Edwards—who has designed more than 500 shoes for artists like Notorious B.I.G., Snoop Dogg, and Nas—has teamed up with Target for a new, affordable sneaker line. By opting for a sock-like upper paired with a Z-shaped outsole, the shoes can expand in width and length up a size. Hence the name ÜNOS for the series: Ü Need One Size. A smart solution with a positive impact on the environment.
WTF recommends: TrueMedia 🥸
With the US elections approaching, it is good to be aware of deepfakes… Did you know that the number of deepfakes grows by a factor of 10 every year? Through TrueMedia it is possible to upload the relevant URL for free and detect fake news.
Music 🎵🎺
Roy Hargrove was the most influential trumpeter of his generation. A true master in blending all kinds of different musical styles. Unfortunately he left us much too early at the age of 49 in 2018. On this excellent posthumous album the focus is on fusion of Afro-Cuban rhythms, post-bop and progressive jazz. From powerful trumpet playing to velvety trumpet tones: pure craftmanship. We need more: open the archives with (live) recordings!
Thanks for reading. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for listening.
Hasta la vista and have a wonderful Sunday! 🍂🍁
